(2) Coordinate and transformational geometry. The student uses the process skills to understand the connections between algebra and geometry and uses the one- and two-dimensional coordinate systems to verify geometric conjectures. The student is expected to:
(A) determine the coordinates of a point that is a given fractional distance less than one from one end of a line segment to the other in one- and two-dimensional coordinate systems, including finding the midpoint;
(B) derive and use the distance, slope, and midpoint formulas to verify geometric relationships, including congruence of segments and parallelism or perpendicularity of pairs of lines; and
(C) determine an equation of a line parallel or perpendicular to a given line that passes through a given point.

Monday Oct.2-Tuesday Oct.3:  We will have a lesson on Algebraic Reasoning and Properties, 2.4.  The assignment is wkst 2.4A.

Wednesday Oct.4-Thursday Oct.5:  We will have a lesson on Proving Statements about Segments and Angles, 2.5.  The assignments will be wkst “The Givens”, wkst 2.5B, and wkst 2.5A.

Friday Oct.6: Students will do an online assignment at bigideasmath.com.

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Monday Oct.2:  We will have a lesson on Proofs with Perpendicular Lines, 3.4.  The assignment is page 152 #3-4,11-12,17-20, Prove the last theorem.

Tuesday Oct. 3-Wednesday Oct.4:  We will have a lesson on 3.5 Slopes of Lines, Directed Line Segments.  The assignments are page 159 #1-2,7-16,18-20,22 and wkst 3.5.

Thursday Oct.5-Friday Oct.6:  We will have a lesson on Writing Equations of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines, 3.6.  The assignments are 2 wksts.  We will use DESMOS to check.

GEOMETRY:

Monday August 21- Wednesday August 23:  Students will turn in wkst 1.1A.  We will have a lesson on Segments and Distance, 1.2.  The assignment is wkst 1.2 (Tuesday) and page 16-18 #1-2,4-26even,30,34,37a-d (Wednesday).  Students will take Quiz 1.1-1.2 on Wednesday.

Thursday August 24-Friday August 25:  We will have a lesson on Midpoints and Segment Bisectors.  The assignment is wkst 1.2/1.3.

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Monday August 21:  Students will turn in wkst 1.2C.  We will have a lesson on Midpoint and Distance, 1.3.  The assignment is page 17 #24,26,34 and page 24 #1-2,4-10even,20,24,26,30,32.

Tuesday August 22:  We will have a lesson on Partitioning a segment and students will complete wkst 1.3C.

Wednesday August 23:  We will have a lesson on Angles, 1.4/1.5.  The assignment is wkst 1.4C.

Thursday August 24-Friday August 25:  We will have a lesson on Angle Pairs, 1.5/1.6.  The assignment is wkst 1.5C.
