(8) Similarity, proof, and trigonometry. The student uses the process skills with deductive reasoning to prove and apply theorems by using a variety of methods such as coordinate, transformational, and axiomatic and formats such as two-column, paragraph, and flow chart. The student is expected to:
(A) prove theorems about similar triangles, including the Triangle Proportionality theorem, and apply these theorems to solve problems; and
(B) identify and apply the relationships that exist when an altitude is drawn to the hypotenuse of a right triangle, including the geometric mean, to solve problems.

GEOMETRY:

Monday Feb.24-Tuesday Feb.25:  We will have a lesson on Similar Right Triangles, 9.3.  The assignment is wkst 9.3A and Extra Practice.

Wednesday Feb.26:  The assignment is wksts 1 and 2.

Thursday Feb.27:  Students will complete the Review for 9.1-9.3 in preparation for the test.

Friday Feb.28:  TEST 9.1-9.3 and ISNs are due for 5 Daily Grades.

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Monday Feb.24: We will have a lesson on Special Right Triangles, 9.2.  The assignment is page 479-480 #1-16,18,20.

Tuesday Feb.25:  The assignment is wkst 9.2.

Wednesday Feb.26:  The assignment is Applying Pythagorus 1-2.

Thursday Feb.27:  We will have a lesson on Similar Right Triangles and Geometric Mean, 9.3.  The assignment is wkst 9.3A and Extra Practice.

Friday Feb.28:  The assignment is wksts 1 and 2.
