Lesson Plans for August 13-15

GEOMETRY:

Wednesday Aug.13:  Introduction to class, Procedures/Routines, Bookmark Blog, Google Classroom, bigideasmath.com.  We will do partner interviews to get to know each other.

Thursday Aug.14-Friday Aug.15:  We will begin GEOMETRY! We will have a lesson on Points, Lines, and Planes 1.1.  We will make 3 Vocabulary foldables and complete SJ #1-10.  The assignment is 1.1wkst #1-18.

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Wednesday Aug.13:  Introduction to class, Procedures/Routines, Honors Contracts, Bookmark Blog, Google Classroom, bigideasmath.com.  We will do 4 4s Activity and Broken Circles Activity if time provides.

Thursday Aug.14-Friday Aug.15:  We will begin GEOMETRY! We will have a lesson on Point, Lines, and Planes 1.1.  We will make 3 Vocabulary foldables, complete SJ #1-10, and do a card matching activity with Inequalities.  The assignment is wkst 1.1C.

Welcome to Geometry!

Geometry is a math course that is very different from Algebra.  It deals with shapes of all sorts, both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional and all of the properties associated with them.  Geometry is a very visual subject with many drawings and diagrams.  Geometry is useful for real world applications and we will explore those.

I look forward to a challenging and rewarding year for all.
