(2) Coordinate and transformational geometry. The student uses the process skills to understand the connections between algebra and geometry and uses the one- and two-dimensional coordinate systems to verify geometric conjectures. The student is expected to:
(A) determine the coordinates of a point that is a given fractional distance less than one from one end of a line segment to the other in one- and two-dimensional coordinate systems, including finding the midpoint;
(B) derive and use the distance, slope, and midpoint formulas to verify geometric relationships, including congruence of segments and parallelism or perpendicularity of pairs of lines; and
(C) determine an equation of a line parallel or perpendicular to a given line that passes through a given point.

Tuesday Oct.22:  We will have a lesson on Lines and Angles, 3.1.  The assignment is wkst 3.1B.

Wednesday Oct.23:  We will have a lesson on Parallel Lines and Angles, 3.2.  The assignment is wkst 3.2A.

Thursday Oct.24:  We will have a lesson on Proofs with Parallel Lines, 3.3.  The assignment is wkst 3.3A.

Friday Oct.25:  Students will take Quiz 3.1-3.3

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Monday Oct.21:  School Holiday 🙂

Tuesday Oct. 22:  Students will turn in pg 159 and take Quiz 3.3.  The assignment is wkst 3.5B.

Wednesday Oct.23:  We will have a lesson on Writing Equations of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines, 3.6, using  DESMOS to check. The assignment is wkst 3.6.

Thursday Oct.24:  The assignment is wkst 3.6C.

Friday Oct.25:  Students will complete the chapter 3 review in preparation for the test on Monday.

Monday Oct.14:  We will grade wkst 2.6.  Students will study for the test Tuesday by completing the Review 2.4-2.6.

Tuesday Oct.15:  TEST 2.4-2.6

Wednesday Oct.16:  Band is out for contest so we will have a personal improvement day. 🙂

HONORS GEOMETRY:

Monday Oct.14:  We will have a lesson on Proofs with Perpendicular Lines, 3.4.  The assignment is page 152 #3-4,11-12,17-20all, and Proof of Last Theorem.

Tuesday Oct.15-Wednesday Oct.16:  We will have a lesson on Slopes of Lines and Directed Line Segments, 3.5.  The assignment is page 159 #1-2,7-16,18-20,22.
